My client in the Falmouth area is seeking a Technical Sales and Marketing Manager due to expansion.

My client is an innovative industry-leading engineering company that specializes in supplying solutions for subsea and harsh environment applications. All our equipment is designed, manufactured, and supported in-house at our Innovation Centre near Falmouth in Cornwall. The company is growing at a steady pace in response to demand for its innovative range of established and constantly evolving products and designs. We are able to design and build bespoke solutions and also have a comprehensive range of products for hire and sale.


Summary

The applicant will be responsible for business-to-business relationships with new and existing clients, researching potential markets and products, networking, and managing the company's internet presence. A strong technical knowledge of the offshore surveying industry is essential.


Responsibilities

  1. Listen to client requirements and present an appropriate solution.
  2. Maintain and develop business relationships.
  3. Prepare tenders, proposals, and quotes in response to enquiries.
  4. Represent the company at trade exhibitions.
  5. Improve website content and online customer experience.
  6. Support our company social media presence.
  7. Increase brand awareness.
  8. Identify new opportunities for revenue within our market sector.
  9. Negotiate contracts.
  10. Liaise with other sections of the company to provide a seamless customer experience.
  11. Manage the sales and marketing team.

Essential Experience or Attributes

  1. Minimum of 2 years' experience in the offshore survey industry.
  2. Competent with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  3. A high degree of self-motivation, initiative, and ambition.
  4. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  5. Capability to flourish in a competitive environment.
  6. A good level of numeracy.
  7. Ability and desire to sell.
  8. Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in written format.
  9. A positive, confident, and resilient approach.
  10. Experience in negotiating to achieve positive outcomes.

Desirable Experience or Attributes

  1. Experience in a customer-facing role.
  2. Knowledge of import and export procedures.
  3. Understanding of commercial contracts and processes across the globe.
  4. Website maintenance and marketing experience.
  5. Ability to understand technical data and drawings.

Location: Falmouth UK/Hybrid

Contract: Permanent

Hours: 37.5hrs per week + ability to travel occasionally to meet clients both in the UK and abroad.

Annual Leave: 25 Days plus Bank Holidays.

Salary: £40k-45k based on experience, plus quarterly performance-related bonuses.
