DESCRIPTION
Amazon is looking for a Product & Customer Insights Manager to join our team. As a Product & Customer Insights Manager, you will be responsible for delivering studies that provide up-to-date insights on marketplace trends and competitive forces by researching and analyzing financial and other business performance data. This role will allow you to make a real impact on our business from Day 1 and provide a dynamic, innovative, fast-paced environment to constantly build your skill set and address new challenges.
The right candidate is passionate about understanding the competitive landscape, analyzing corporate performance, and building partnerships across business teams to drive change. You have a strong foundation in financial analysis, the ability to dive deep into complex financial and business performance metrics, and understand the business context behind the data while continuously striving to find insights. You will drive competitive intelligence reporting and financial analysis that guides your partners to identify potential business, operational, and technical changes or investment areas that significantly impact business performance. You will develop studies that drive process efficiency, customer experience, and innovative technology.
You will partner with business leaders in developing metrics and programs and follow-up on actionable findings. You will have the ability to work with and influence businesses in a global setting and drive change across Amazon.
Key job responsibilities
- Discover, track, and evaluate global industry trends
- Perform in-depth analysis of financial and other business performance data, marketplace trends and competitive forces to understand financial, business, operational, or customer implications
- Translate complex or ambiguous business problem statements into analysis requirements, design custom financial and strategic studies
- Own and execute end-to-end analysis including scoping, design, data collection, data analysis, creation of recommendations and presentation of results to senior leadership
- Work with business leaders and their teams to drive growth, process, and cost efficiency improvements through study results
- Develop understanding of Amazon financial metrics, strategy, and long-term thinking to guide recommendations for improvements
- Develop processes, reports, or tools that can scale, automate, or improve financial insights
- Contribute to a team culture of experimentation and innovation
A day in the life
This role will support Amazon business teams and leadership, providing key insights into financial and strategic business trends across the industry. A successful candidate for this role will have strong quantitative and qualitative research skills and an ability to communicate complex financial and business trends through clear and concise writing.
About the team
Customer Experience and Business Trends (CXBT) is an organization made up of a diverse suite of functions dedicated to deeply understanding and improving customer experience, globally. We are a team of builders that develop products, services, ideas, and various ways of leveraging data to influence product and service offerings - for almost every business at Amazon - for every customer (e.g., consumers, developers, sellers/brands, employees, investors, streamers, gamers).
Our approach is based on determining the customer need, along with problem solving, and we work backwards from there. We use technical and non-technical approaches and stay aware of industry and business trends. We are a global team, made up of a diverse set of profiles, skills, and backgrounds - including: Product Managers, Software Developers, Computer Vision experts, Solutions Architects, Data Scientists, Business Intelligence Engineers, Business Analysts, Risk Managers, and more.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
-3+ years of product management experience
Experience in product, program, or project management in leading cross-functional teams in delivery of major new products or services
-Experience performing financial or other quantitative analyses
-Knowledge of Microsoft Excel (macros, pivots, lookups) at an advanced level
-Experience developing operational processes and technologies
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
-Experience building and analyzing cost/benefit scenarios and business cases and communicating results throughout the organization
-Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (i.e. SQL, MSAccess, Tableau, Essbase or Cognos)
-5+ years of product management experience
