Mental Health Support Worker

Location: Bessacarr, Doncaster

Salary: GBP 12.60 per hour

Role Description

Gray Healthcare is recruiting a team of mental health support workers in Bessacarr, Doncaster, to support a gentleman in his 20s diagnosed with Paranoid Schizophrenia, Autistic Spectrum Disorder, and Mild to Moderate Depressive Episode. He lives independently and receives 1:1 support 24 hours a day. The individual enjoys outdoor walks, cinema, and board games. Support will be provided by a female-only team on mixed shifts of days and waking nights. Candidates must be drivers, as the individual has a mobility vehicle for community access.

Skills and Experience Required

• Full UK Driving License (Essential)
• Experience in social care, preferably within mental health, and supporting individuals with Schizophrenia
• Experience encouraging individuals with complex health needs and Learning Disabilities
• Experience supporting challenging behaviors
• Experience implementing care plans and risk assessments
• Current Right to Work in the UK; employed in the UK for at least 6 months; sponsorship not available
• Subject to an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references

Hours

36-hour contract on days, 3 x 12-hour shifts, including alternative weekends

Induction and Training

Initial online training (company induction, systems, medication) followed by in-person PROACT-SCIPr-UK training, focusing on least restrictive practices. Additional person-centered training specific to the individual will be provided. Ongoing training and career development are encouraged.
