ABOUT YOUR NEW JOB
This role has ownership of providing business insight and commercial support to the Commercial Key Account Managers.
An important aspect of the role is to own the relationship with Key Account Managers for the relevant channel. It is vitally important to be able to correlate financial insight to commercial activities and to clearly communicate period end results to non-finance people.
The Financial Analyst is expected to drive continuous business improvements and to deliver analysis in a timely manner, based on Financial Group reporting deadlines.
A key challenge will be to establish a full understanding of the drivers of the relevant channel P&L from Net Revenue to EBIT including COGS and OPEX. This role will need to work closely with, and influence, other finance teams (Pricing, Business Planning, Supply Chain Finance), the Commercial Teams and other related functions (e.g. Marketing) as necessary to ensure that commercial are being provided with sufficient information to make informed decisions.
YOUR NEW KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Preparation and Analysis of Monthly results, BP/RE cycles and promotional activity.
• Assist with revenue reporting for each reporting cycle, GM Report preparation and RGM analysis as required.
• Ability to as part of a dynamic team to manage tight deadlines, be proactive in terms of identifying potential problems with specific channel NSR plans.
• Suggest improvements and be proactive in improving process, becoming active in current process improvement projects
• Ensure the Month End Analysis of Gross to Net revenue is completed in line with reporting deadlines and identified issues are escalated
• Lead the preparation of Channel and Pack P&L and provision of commentaries on variances relating to commercial activities in the period (using why method to understand root cause)
• Lead the preparation of rolling estimate and annual budget data for the commercial channels including the submission of templates and consolidation files. All submissions must be aligned with the Commercial teams in advance.
• Understand the structure and logic of the promotional forecasting tool, working closely with the Revenue Management team to ensure promotional activity is in line with forecast.
• Become a Business Partner with the wider Commercial Team
• Act as finance business partner to the Key Account Managers and drive education and insight on Customer profitability from Net Revenue to EBIT. This will include having a full understanding of all allocation drivers of overhead to the customer P&L.
• Build strong relationships with the wider Commercial team, maximizing the ability to understand the drivers of business performance both historically and looking forward.
• Delivery of recurring and ad hoc tasks and becoming involved in various Commercial Finance Projects
• Support the Commercial teams in preparing for the monthly promotional planning meetings, the monthly channel review meetings - providing insights related to discounts and any other factors which impact the Net Revenue and Gross Profit results.
• As part of the Commercial Finance Analyst team, we will interchange responsibilities, tasks and projects to ensure the analyst has a broad knowledge and touchpoints with all aspects of the Commercial Finance function such tasks include:
• Running the Opex Allocation jobs at Month end and validating all outputs to ensure accuracy.

Essential Criteria
• Qualified Accountant (CIMA / ACCA /ACA) - in final stages of exams
• Confident in use of advanced Excel & PowerPoint
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent analytical / Problem solving Skills with attention to detail
• Ability to work on own initiative, with strong planning and organisational skills.
• Excellent understanding of processes and procedures
• Deadline focused with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Third Level qualifications
• Track record of leading process improvement projects

• Understanding of IT systems
• Be familiar with SAP reporting
• Knowledge of Access
