Job Description:

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK, employing around 40,000 staff across various clinical and non-clinical roles. We provide acute hospital, primary, community, and mental health services to a population of over 1.15 million, extending to 2.2 million with regional and national services.

This is a permanent, full-time position with shifts from 8:30 to 16:30, five days out of seven.

Under supervision of a registered Allied Health Professional within the Forensic Directorate, the post holder will:

  1. Coordinate, develop, and facilitate client-centered therapeutic activities for individuals/groups with mental health difficulties and offending behaviors, in secure wards, community settings, or at clients' homes.
  2. Support clients through the transition from secure environments to community forensic mental health services.
  3. Implement and evaluate Allied Health Professional interventions related to the clients' treatment programs.

Under supervision, Technical Instructors will undertake therapeutic interventions with clients experiencing mental health issues and offending behaviors requiring secure care or support. This includes participating in risk assessments and interventions based on offending behaviors. The post requires understanding of the roles within the forensic AHP service.
