Job Description:

Media and Entertainment Partner

Join a thriving L500, multi-service law firm in the heart of London that has doubled its size and tripled its turnover in just four years. With revenues soaring from £8 million to £24 million, this firm has attracted top talent from leading City and mid-town firms, boosting their headcount from 45 to over 100.

Backed by strong, diverse leadership and a robust financial foundation, the firm has ambitious plans to double again over the next five years, focusing on both headcount and profitability. As a first-generation, 25-year-old firm, they maintain high staff retention, with many lawyers staying well over a decade.

This firm invests in cutting-edge technology to simplify life for its fee earners. They reward performance based on merit—no corporate red tape, just competitive compensation that reflects your true worth.

Their client roster is impressive. In their media and sports practice, they represent Premier League and WSL players, world boxing champions, Olympic and Commonwealth athletes, F1 drivers, top cricketers, professional golfers, major football agencies, international brands, and more.

Expect a collegiate, entrepreneurial culture where mentorship, career development, and progression are core values—evidenced by a growing cadre of homegrown senior lawyers and partners.

The role

This firm is seeking to hire a Media and Entertainment Partner to join their thriving office based in the heart of the City of London.

  • You will join an established team of three within the media and entertainment department and work closely with the corporate commercial team.
  • The department handles both contentious and non-contentious work; the Head of Department is open to candidates from either side that can complement the team. The department is currently busy and thriving.
  • You will work with a broad client base including actors, producers, writers, directors, game creators, content creators and influencers, models, musicians, and publishers. The work includes sponsorship agreements, film financing, reputation management, endorsements, merchandising, contracts, licensing, and breach of contract.
  • You will be part of a dynamic, friendly, and passionate team dedicated to media law.
  • You will lead the department alongside the other partner, mentoring and developing team members, and contributing to strategy, planning, and business development.
  • This role is suitable for an ambitious senior associate seeking career progression, potentially in a top-heavy team.
  • You should be a Media and Entertainment Lawyer with at least 7 years PQE; candidates with more experience are welcome. Both contentious and non-contentious backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
  • Salary will be competitive and depend on your background and experience.

Please note: If you are not a passport holder of the country for the vacancy, you might need a work permit. Check our Blog for more information.
