Job Summary:

This position is responsible for repairing construction machines, component assemblies, and parts both in the shop and in the field. Responsibilities include diagnosing issues, ordering parts, writing technical reports, warranty reporting, maintaining company assets, and effective communication with team members.

Responsibilities:
  1. Repair equipment and components, including:
    1. Developing repair plans and sequences
    2. Determining necessary parts, materials, and tooling
    3. Performing repairs safely and correctly, with proper quality assurance testing
  2. Complete reports accurately and promptly for parts ordering, tooling, service reports, and work orders.
  3. Communicate repair progress to supervisors as required.
  4. Manage parts and materials through the company's parts ordering system.
  5. Handle special tools and maintain shop equipment properly.
  6. Use company vehicles, service trucks, and fuel cards responsibly.
  7. Maintain a safe and clean work environment and ensure tools are well-kept and up-to-date.
  8. Follow all safety guidelines and company policies.
  9. Perform additional tasks as assigned by the manager.
Education, Experience, and Skills:

High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required. An Associate Degree in Diesel or Equipment Technology or four years of apprenticeship experience is preferred. Technician classification depends on experience, knowledge, and competence.

Physical Demands:

Must be able to sit, stand, walk, and use hands for handling and feeling. Also, reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, lifting, crouching, crawling, talking, and hearing are required. Reasonable accommodations are available for individuals with disabilities.

Work Environment:

Frequent exposure to wet/humid conditions and moving mechanical parts; occasional exposure to fumes, airborne particles, weather extremes, and vibration. Noise levels are moderate to loud.
