We’re looking for a MemoryCafé Coordinator to lead and develop a sustainable dementia/memory café. This is a fantastic opportunity to create a welcoming space where individuals with dementia and their carers can find support, information, and companionship in an informal setting.
Café Management Lead on organising and delivering the café, ensuring it meets the needs of attendees and making improvements where necessary.
Community Engagement Promote the café widely, liaising with local organisations, professionals, and volunteers to build awareness and support.
Support & Wellbeing Provide a listening ear for attendees, ensuring they feel valued, supported, and signposted to appropriate services when needed.
Event Coordination Arrange speakers, entertainers, and professionals to educate and engage attendees on dementia-related topics.
Volunteer Management Recruit, coordinate, and support volunteers to help deliver an outstanding café experience.
Health & Safety Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, maintain accurate records, and manage risk assessments.
Financial Oversight Accurately report attendance records and weekly payments.
To be successful in this role, you’ll need:
A passion for supporting individuals with dementia and their carers
Excellent communication and organisational skills
Experience in community engagement or event coordination
The ability to work independently and collaboratively
Confidence in managing volunteers and liaising with professionals
