Entry Level Teaching Roles

Are you looking to move into a teaching position but do not hold the relevant qualifications? Do you enjoy working with children and young people and making a positive impact on their lives? This role is for you. Protocol Education are working with secondary schools throughout Wiltshire and are looking to appoint Entry Level Teachers/Cover Supervisors to join them to support learning across the school in the coming terms.

Employment Type: Full time preferred. Part time considered

Hours: Usually 08.30 - 15.30

Start Date: Easter 2025

The Role

To manage and support classes during teacher absence where work has been set by a qualified teacher and can be carried out independently by pupils.

You are not expected to be an expert on all subjects, just to have the ability to handle a class and be a friendly, confident, and trusting individual.

This role is ideal if you are looking to progress into a teaching career and need some classroom experience. You will lead classes and get a taste of working across subjects/year groups, handling behaviour and improving your teaching skills and confidence.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

1. To maintain a constructive learning environment
2. To supervise pupils, ensuring they work on task
3. To support pupils, where appropriate, offering advice and guidance to pupils of all ages and abilities in order that their work is of a high standard
4. To maintain behaviour and discipline of pupils in line with school policies
5. To work with appropriate senior staff to ensure that school policies are adhered to
6. To report back to teachers setting work or their line manager
7. To carry out various duties within subject departments when cover not required, i.e. worksheet preparation and admin tasks

Ideal Requirements:

1. A passion for working with young people and supporting their educational journey.
2. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
3. Previous experience working in an educational setting is desirable but not essential.
4. Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
5. Flexibility to adapt to different subjects and year groups.
6. Resilience and the ability to maintain composure in challenging situations.

NO FORMAL TEACHING QUALIFICATIONS ARE NEEDED FOR THIS POSITION.
