Job Description:

The Senior Service Manager (SSM) provides strategic oversight of Redthread Services, currently working with 9 hospitals in London and Birmingham. The role involves line management to ensure high-quality delivery that improves outcomes for children and young people, seeking opportunities for growth, and working with the YPF SMT to implement strategic initiatives.

The position can be home-based, with travel across the UK to support service delivery and growth. The ideal candidate will have experience managing similar services, strong leadership skills, and a proven track record in engaging with commissioners and securing new business. The role focuses on promoting and building services to positively impact vulnerable young people with complex needs.

Core Responsibilities:

  1. Management and development of Redthread service delivery, ensuring high performance and positive outcomes.
  2. Supporting the implementation of the YPF growth strategy, including business development and service expansion.

Additional duties include line management of service managers, overseeing service contracts, engaging with commissioners, ensuring clinical governance, stakeholder engagement, staff motivation, budget management, performance monitoring, reporting, multi-agency collaboration, participation of service users, safety compliance, and other duties to ensure effective service delivery.

Qualifications:

Professional qualification in youth, community, management, or equivalent experience. Management qualification preferred.

Knowledge & Experience:
  • Understanding of current issues in youth violence work and related risks.
  • Proven experience managing projects and services for young people and their families, including staff management and business development.
  • Experience working in multi-agency environments and developing new contracts.
Skills & Abilities:
  • Leadership and coaching skills.
  • Budget management and organizational skills.
  • Negotiation, relationship building, and effective communication skills.
  • Competence in IT tools such as Email, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
Additional Information:

Salary: £50,000 per annum

Hours: Full-time, 37 hours/week

Workplace: Home-based with national travel

Contract: Permanent

Screening: Enhanced DBS required
