A leading company is seeking Support Practitioners to join their team in Kelso and Coldstream on a part-time basis. This role involves assisting individuals with learning disabilities and promoting independence while engaging in various community activities. No experience is necessary as training will be provided, making it a great opportunity for those looking to make a positive impact.

We're on the lookout for a creative, proactive and positive individual who has a great sense of humour to join our amazing #TeamSBCSKelso as Support Practitioners on a permanent, part-time (20 hours per week) basis.
The Role
You'll become part of a friendly and dedicated team who support a number of people in Kelso and Coldstream, with learning disabilities, Autism and acquired brain injuries.
As a Support Practitioner, you will play a crucial role in assisting the people we support with all aspects of daily living, including helping to prepare meals, providing personal care, shopping and domestic tasks. Our teams adopt a person-centred approach to provide the highest quality support to enable the people we support to achieve their goals and aspirations, with a focus on maintaining and improving independence.
The great thing about this job is no two days are ever the same and the people we support have a wide range of interest including going swimming and out walking, watching sport, gaming, quizzes, going to the cinema along with doing arts and crafts. We'll be looking to you to be actively involved in their hobbies and support them to explore new interests.
Your support will enable individuals to not only maintain their independence and continue to live in their own home; you’ll also help them to play an active part of their community too.
About You
You don't need experience to start your career with us; we recruit on values and transferrable skills. We'll pay you for your training and give you all the practical skills you'll need. We'll even put you through your SVQ qualification too!
All we’ll need you to bring is;
Having a full UK Manual driving licence would be beneficial but not essential for this role.
Shift Patterns
As we're dedicated to provide support normal hours are between 9 am and 6.30 pm with an occasional shift after those hours for community activities.
There is an expectation for some weekend work which will usually fall on alternate weekends.

Successful candidates will be required to join the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme and be committed to working towards an SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare with the support from our Training Academy. If you’re successful in joining our team, we will need you to register with the SSSC within 3 months of starting your employment with us.
Please note - If you have spent more than 12 months out with the UK (excluding France, Germany. Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania or Spain) within the last 10 years while over the age of 18, you will be asked to provide a criminal record certificate from the relevant government/police authority as part of our pre-employment checks.
