Early Years Group Leader - Summer - Norwich, Norfolk
Hours of work: 08:30 - 17:30
Salary: £421.52 - £628.71 per week, depending on age, experience, and qualifications.
(Contracts for February Half Term will be issued at 2023 wage levels. 2024 wage levels are effective from 1st April.)
Reportable to: Early Years Manager, Camp Manager, Area Manager, and Central Office.

EARLY YEARS GROUP LEADER DUTIES
- Implement the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
- Assist with setting up and maintaining an inviting, tidy base room with all equipment stored properly.
- Follow policies and procedures to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for children.
- Adhere to the activity timetable to deliver a variety of sessions as promised.
- Collaborate with staff to deliver sessions effectively.
- Act as the children's Key Worker, managing communication about their experiences.
- Ensure children’s needs are met through active supervision, including during breaks and lunch.
- Plan and deliver age-appropriate activities using available resources with enthusiasm.
- Encourage children’s participation while adhering to OFSTED guidelines.
- Get to know children as individuals and incorporate their interests into activities.
- Take responsibility for children’s welfare and safeguarding.
- Ensure the safe use of equipment.
- Facilitate development through Explore and Play sessions.
REQUIREMENTS
- Working towards or holding a relevant childcare qualification.
- Knowledge and experience of the EYFS.
- Be aged 18 or over by the start date.
- Eligible to work in the UK.
- Provide satisfactory references.
- Enthusiastic, caring, organized, with excellent communication skills and initiative.
- Capable of managing unpredictable challenges.
- Obtain an enhanced DBS check or have an existing one on the Update Service.
- Attend a Virtual Assessment Event if new to Barracudas.
- Complete annual Online Training and attend Induction before camp.
- Assist with camp pack-up at the end.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Follow health and safety protocols diligently.
- Organize activities appropriate to your qualifications and knowledge.
- Encourage participation in new activities and follow the timetable.
- Maintain children’s safety, whereabouts, and behavior, respecting their individuality.
- Follow all camp procedures, including registration, collection, and safety guidelines.
- Promote a healthy lifestyle and hygiene standards.
- Report Child Protection concerns promptly.
- Make reasonable adjustments for children with additional needs.
- Support delivery of Skills Builder sessions if available.
- Support swimming sessions (bring swimwear and spare T-shirt).
- Perform other duties as required within your role and the organization’s objectives.
