Opportunity Overview

We are currently seeking a Senior Lecturer in Geography to contribute to the leadership and development of Geography and Environmental Management. The role involves providing effective academic and professional leadership in postgraduate and undergraduate programme and module delivery.

As a Senior Lecturer, you will plan, design, and deliver a range of high-quality teaching and learning activities across Geography and Environmental Management programmes, focusing on fields such as climate change, biogeography, coastal geography, geomorphology, river science, and geo-hazards. You will also engage in curriculum enhancement, student support, and teaching excellence, fostering innovation and academic integrity in all aspects of programme delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and deliver engaging lectures, seminars, and practical sessions across programmes and modules, applying innovative teaching techniques and assessment procedures.
  • Initiate and lead funded research projects to contribute to your area of expertise, maximizing policy, media, industrial, or community impact.
  • Apply knowledge from scholarship to learning, research, and external activities.
  • Develop successful collaborations with external partners, agencies, professional bodies, and stakeholders.

The School of Science, Engineering and Environment (SEE) is a hub of discovery and innovation, covering computer sciences, engineering, built environment, and natural sciences. It is one of the largest schools at the University, with over 6,000 students and 370 staff.
