Job description

CommScope is currently recruiting for a Director of Global Trade Compliance to join our Corporate Legal Team. This is a remote role that allows you to work from anywhere in the US, provided you are open to traveling as needed.

How You'll Help Us Connect the World

In this role, you will lead the company's global trade compliance program, providing strategic direction and execution leadership. You will establish and maintain management systems and subject matter expertise to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations governing global import and export activities, and mitigate risks associated with these activities. Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Providing strategic direction and leadership in global trade compliance, ensuring adherence to all import/export laws and regulations.
  2. Developing and implementing a comprehensive global trade compliance strategy aligned with company goals.
  3. Managing a global team of trade compliance professionals, focusing on expertise, talent development, and program continuity.
  4. Developing and implementing policies and procedures covering Export Controls, Licensing, Due Diligence, Import Regulations, Sanctions, and other relevant regulations.
  5. Overseeing import/export registrations, permits, and licenses, ensuring accurate filings and quality control.
  6. Assessing and mitigating trade compliance risks through evaluations and mitigation activities.
  7. Conducting compliance reviews and audits, recommending and implementing improvements.
  8. Maintaining expertise in global trade laws, pending legislation, and industry trends.
  9. Developing and leading trade compliance training programs across the organization.
  10. Analyzing compliance metrics and reporting trends and opportunities to senior management.
  11. Collaborating with stakeholders and managing interactions with trade-related government agencies.
Required Qualifications:
  • A bachelor’s degree in a related field and at least 15 years of experience in global trade compliance.
  • Experience leading a global team.
  • Thorough understanding of trade compliance systems, ERP systems, and proven experience implementing scalable solutions.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with proactive problem-solving abilities.
  • Deep knowledge of trade laws, export controls, import regulations, customs valuation, classification, origin, and licensing.
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with the SAP GTC module.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and integrate diverse information to find optimal solutions.

Salary range: $139,440 - $181,100, depending on experience and qualifications. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k), paid holidays, vacation, and other leave options.
