Job description

As a Subject Matter Expert (SME) within NOV’s Rig Aftermarket (RA) Technical Equipment Support Services (TESS) team, you will be responsible to provide Drilling Equipment remote technical support to the global NOV customer base as well as internal Aftermarket groups. This will include, but not be limited to - receiving, analysing, troubleshooting and providing detailed feedback to resolve client technical issues. A strong foundation to your success in this role will be your ability to interpret engineering drawings/schematics, and systematically fault find NOV Drilling Equipment.

Provide technical input and feedback to responsible product engineering teams for equipment performance and reliability related to design, maintenance or operations to optimize efficiency.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide technical guidance to field personnel within the Service group.
  • Providing onshore support to our Customers and Service Department relating to products and services.
  • Responsible for ensuring data in tracking system is accurate and up to date.
  • Receive, analyse, troubleshoot, and resolve client technical issues.
  • Prepare reports with damage assessments and recommended corrective / maintenance action based on customer provided information and data retrieved from the NOV logging or monitoring systems.
  • Provide technical content support for formal feedback to Product Engineering of global product or component performance and reliability related to design, maintenance, or operations.
  • Support product notification (PN) review (PIB, PIN, etc.); support PN planning for release.
  • Support / supervise implementation; perform tracking and reporting function.
  • Interface with Customers and internally with the Sales, Engineering and Workshop Departments.
  • Ensure job documentation is processed in a timely manner and ensure prompt and satisfactory job closure.
  • NOV or similar drilling equipment maintenance, inspection, overhaul and fault finding.
  • Relevant work experience in similar heavy industry preferred.

  • Deep knowledge in one of more technical disciplines: mechanical, hydraulic, electrical or controls, as well as deep understanding related to design, operations, and maintenance of specific families of NOV Rig Systems equipment.
