Job description

Role:

We are seeking a Senior Analytics Engineer to work within our Data Analytics division. The role involves delivering reporting and analytics capabilities across all business areas. Our team has expertise in Power BI and Tabular models, and we are looking for someone with knowledge of predictive analytics and AI to enhance our capabilities. This business-facing role supports planning and coordination of solution delivery in an AGILE environment, especially with our recently launched Data platform leveraging embedded Power BI functionalities.

Responsibilities:

1. Collaborate with the business to understand information needs and develop appropriate reporting solutions.
2. Develop reports using Power BI, SSAS (Tabular) models, and predictive analytics tools.
3. Provide technical guidance and support to the development team as a senior lead on reporting and analytics solutions.
4. Maintain and enhance existing reports.
5. Test and document new reporting solutions as required.
6. Optimize model performance and implement best practices.
7. Stay updated on data and reporting technology trends, including AI implementation in 2025.
8. Build strong internal client relationships.
9. Manage personal task lists and ensure plans are aligned and agreed upon.

Skills & Experience:

1. Proficiency in predictive analytics for forecasting and scenario analysis.
2. Advanced development of SSAS (Tabular) data models.
3. Expertise in Power BI dashboard and paginated report development.
4. Experience leveraging AI tools for business value and operational efficiency.
5. Proficiency in Python coding.
6. Strong skills in DAX query writing.
7. Ability to write and optimize T-SQL queries.
8. Financial services or insurance experience is advantageous, given the close collaboration with business users.
9. Experience with Databricks is beneficial.
10. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and presentation skills.
11. Strong stakeholder management skills, capable of working across all levels and functions of the organization.
