Job Description:

• Undertake Best Interest Assessments for the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DOLS) process within legal timeframes.
• Liaise with mental health assessors, advocates, care homes, and hospitals as required to ensure best interest outcomes are achieved.
• Develop skills, experience, and expertise to undertake a consultative role, promoting best practice and understanding of DOLS among other professionals.
• Ensure practice and procedures are compliant with regulations, the Mental Capacity Act, and in line with the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards Code of Practice.
• Act as a resource for care home and hospital settings.
• Contribute to the efficient and effective management of the Adult Safeguarding Unit by ensuring cases are managed within the appropriate framework and timeframes.
