Position: Teacher of Biology

Salary: £33,594 - £50,589

Hours: 35 per week

We are seeking an inspirational and passionate Biology Teacher to join the Science department at The Royal High School.

About The Royal High School

The Royal High School is one of Scotland's oldest schools, known for its rich history and innovative approach. It is a non-denominational, 6-year comprehensive school drawing students from four primary schools: Blackhall, Clermiston, Cramond, and Davidson's Mains.

The school was inspected by HMIE in December 2022 and boasts high-quality facilities, including recent refurbishments and extensive community use. It is designated as a Community Sports Hub, with a vibrant extra-curricular program supported by partner clubs and staff.

Requirements
  • This role involves regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.
  • The preferred candidate must join or update their PVG Scheme membership.
  • If the candidate has spent three or more months outside the UK in the last five years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check is required.
  • Employment is contingent upon satisfactory pre-employment checks.
