Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Head Chef to oversee both the Novotel and ibis here in Southampton. You will lead the creation of kitchens to be proud of, inspiring your team and ensuring all food leaving the kitchens is of the highest standard. Managing all kitchen areas, you will be an integral part of our combined Hotels in Southampton.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Train and inspire your team to deliver food they can be proud of.
  • Maintain high standards of quality, presentation, and hygiene.
  • Be energetic, adaptable, and passionate about Modern British cuisine.
  • Exhibit strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Minimize wastage and encourage creative thinking.
  • Ensure good kitchen planning to enable a trouble-free service and customer satisfaction.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Lead with enthusiasm, maintaining a passion for food standards and customer service.
  • Cook freshly prepared food with attention to detail and presentation.
  • Lead, coach, and develop your team effectively.
  • Manage budgets and control costs.
  • Prepare staff rotas ensuring adequate coverage for each shift.
  • Order foods appropriately to meet daily menu demands.
  • Conduct stock takes in accordance with company standards.
  • Comply with company and legal requirements regarding fire, safety, and hygiene.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and punctuality, ensuring high personal hygiene standards.
  • Work well under pressure, remaining calm at all times.

Working Hours

  • As per business needs, including mornings, evenings, late nights, and weekends.

Qualifications

  • Qualified Head Chef
  • 5 to 10 years' professional experience in diverse contexts with strong food delivery knowledge
  • Recognized management skills
  • Computer literate (Windows, PMS, and new technologies)
  • Fluent in English
