As our kitchen assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the day-to-day operations of our care home’s kitchen.

What you'll be doing
  • Supporting the Chefs in planning and providing high-quality meals that meet the nutritional and dietary requirements of our residents
  • Planning, preparing, and serving balanced meals that meet dietary requirements
  • Ensuring all food prepared meets Food Hygiene Standards and that safe working methods are always used
  • Managing stocks and stores, ensuring all food is correctly marked and stock rotation systems are in place
  • Maintaining accurate records to satisfy food hygiene requirements, such as fridge temperature checks

  • Proven experience in a similar catering role, ideally in a care or similar environment
  • Committed to customer care and first-class service
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety COSHH regulations
  • Empathy and a desire to make a difference in residents' lives
  • Ability to multi-task, work under pressure, and work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Shared values and the ability to demonstrate them at all times. A “Can-Do” flexible team worker, problem solver, passionate, able to manage diverse workloads, think creatively, and be open to doing things differently
