The Opportunity

Grid Integration Business Unit – Grid and Power Quality Solutions and Service (GPQSS).

GPQSS is the market leader in the design and delivery of scalable solutions for grid connection and power quality. Our solutions tackle the challenges of integration with today’s evolving renewable energy sources and transmission and distribution networks to ensure power quality, reliability and availability.

We are a solutions provider, power consultant and system integrator for our customers, with advanced and proven solutions and digital platforms that help our customers to overcome complexity, increase efficiency and accelerate the shift towards a carbon neutral energy future.

Our Grid Integration portfolio spans a wide range of transmission and substation applications, which facilitate reliable and efficient system integration of the future digital electric network with minimum environmental impact. We incorporate the integrated systems, solutions and services of our business's DC and AC fields, including HVDC, Substations, FACTS, Offshore Wind Connections, Semiconductors and Power Consulting, for utility and industrial grid applications, as well as e-transportation solutions.

We need an Excellence Programs and Collaboration Manager to join the Operations Management team and drive excellence programs for the GI team globally. You will play a key role in defining and implementing a Project & Portfolio and Business excellence program across GI, in a dynamic and positive working environment. In addition to the operations management team, you will work with other GI functions, and the operations teams from the other business units.

How you’ll make an impact

  • Manage cross business unit collaboration platform for GI projects in execution with Transformers, High Voltage and Grid Automation business units.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement actions to support collaborative project execution and common prioritization.
  • Develop and execute Grid Integration Excellence Programs – Project & Portfolio Excellence Program and Business Excellence Program
    • Design program, onboard internal and external trainers, align stakeholders, coordinate logistics, and host sessions.
    • Must be proficient in organizing and coordinating large meetings and team events.
  • Support 100% digital Project and Portfolio Review implementation and manage GPQSS portfolio tracking and analysis of gross margin movements in project execution.
  • Support HSE and Engineering teams in synergizing Safety by Design practices across GI business unit.

Your background

  • Undergraduate degree in engineering or related discipline.
  • 1-3 years of experience in Program/Project Management.
  • PMI project management certification.
  • A wide knowledge of the power grids industry and Hitachi Energy product offerings (e.g. Transformers, High Voltage Products, Grid Automation).
  • A wide knowledge of manufacturing, sales, tendering, risk management, continuous improvement, financials and project execution disciplines and their interdependencies.
  • Important prerequisites for this interesting, dynamic position are high resilience, proactive problem solving, and a structured way of working.
  • Excellent communication and enthusiasm skills to help in presenting and driving the operations improvement initiatives globally.
  • A reliable go-getter with a high degree of independence, initiative and the ability to work on a global team.
  • Background in competence development.
  • Knowledge on project execution and process excellence enterprise systems: InEight, SAP, Salesforce, Adonis, Unifier, Primavera P6, PowerBI.
  • Knowledge on Lean tools: Kaizen, Gemba, Value Stream mapping, 5S.
  • Fluent English, proficient in German and/or Spanish is a great advantage.
