Job Description:

Westlakes Recruit is currently recruiting for a Planner (Mechanical, Electrical, and HVAC bias) to be engaged on a permanent basis, based in Bridgwater.

The Construction Planner will be responsible for onsite planning of installation activities and associated data, including governance, management, and updating of project construction schedules.

Responsibilities include:
  • Development, integration, design, testing & commissioning of detailed construction schedules within the project phase.
  • Considering all aspects of integrated mechanical, electrical, and HVAC works; conducting schedule reviews to develop detailed, optimized construction delivery sequences and resource-loaded schedules.
  • Integrating construction activities with all client programs to optimize planning, address interfaces, and support the overall project schedule and 16-week look-ahead process.
  • Managing and updating schedule data within planning tools.
  • Supporting performance optimization and the influence of 4D capabilities on safety, quality, cost, time, and risk across the project lifecycle.
  • Ensuring schedule data supports project scope delivery and digital toolsets.
  • Producing, managing, and maintaining project schedules per procedures and contract requirements.
  • Reporting site progress and informing relevant stakeholders.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Construction trade or OND/HND in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field; professional memberships (RICS, CIOB, RIBA, ICE, CIBSE) or equivalent experience.
  • Deep knowledge of program progress, forecasting, and planning methods.
  • Understanding of construction methods, plant, equipment, and labor requirements.
  • Basic understanding of estimating principles.
