Position: Marine Electrical Engineer

Job ID: 131/34

Location: Ipswich, Felixstow, Great Yarmouth, Suffolk, Norfolk

Salary: £34,000 - £39,000 Plus overtime and benefits

About the Role

We are seeking a Marine Electrical / Electronic Engineer / Field Service Engineer for a company with over 50 years of experience in the marine industry. The ideal candidate may be a sailing ETO or a land-based Electrical / Electronic Engineer experienced in marine navigation and communication systems.

You will be required to travel around the specified area.

Key Duties
  1. Service, maintain, and install marine automation, navigation, and communication equipment.
  2. Supervise field service teams, subcontractors, and shipyard labor to maintain morale and team spirit, ensuring familiarity with QA policies and health and safety regulations.
  3. Conduct site surveys and prepare detailed work specifications.
  4. Create accurate lists of tools and materials based on workload.
  5. Deliver high-quality field service work, demonstrating problem-solving skills and professionalism.
  6. Mentor and train colleagues to support their development.
  7. Ensure all work complies with ISO 9001/2000 standards.
Qualifications
  • Experience with marine electronics, especially bridge navigation, communication, and PA systems.
  • HND/HNC in Engineering or equivalent experience preferred.
  • UK Passport Holder.
  • Full UK Driving License.
  • Ability to travel within the Suffolk/Norfolk area.
