Job Title: Senior Control & Instrumentation Engineer

Location: Coventry – We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role

Salary: 45,000+ depending on experience

What you’ll be doing:

• Develop a functional design for the Vehicle Control solution for SSNA
• Collaborate with stakeholders to oversee the delivery of the vehicle control solution and strategy
• Assist the engineering manager in delivering the vehicle control system, reporting progress through agile tools
• Ensure timely delivery of the engineering plan
• Work with the Engineering Delivery Team to develop technical solutions and nurture team development
• Engage with legacy stakeholders to develop solutions from baseline designs

Your skills and experiences:

• Experience in developing C&I designs for large-scale systems, meeting standards such as functional, defence, and industrial
• Managing non-functional requirements like EMC and shock to meet industrial compliance
• Authoring/reviewing design documents: I/O schedules, design specs, interface control documents
• Degree in Engineering, Physics, Maths, Science or equivalent experience
• Understanding control system architecture and communication protocols (RS-485, PROFIBUS)
• Experience with IEC 61508 – Functional Safety and safety evidence production
• Experience with manoeuvring systems across industries
