Suspension Systems Engineer
Location: Gaydon area, Warwickshire
Contract Length: 10 months (likely extension)
Rate: Up to £27 per hour

Body & Exteriors / Chassis SystemsA leading automotive manufacturer is seeking a Suspension Systems Engineer to join its Body & Exterior engineering team. This role will focus on the analysis and improvement of wheel alignment and ride height systems, supporting major vehicle programmes through the launch phases. You’ll work cross-functionally with Chassis, Quality, Manufacturing, and Vehicle Integration teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead statistical and capability investigations into wheel alignment and ride height issues.
  • Develop robust plans and issue-resolution strategies to meet program gateways.
  • Drive the resolution of cross-functional chassis-related concerns using tools like 8D, Six Sigma, and Ishikawa.
  • Support Launch Quality Operating Standards (LQOS) through physical build phases.
  • Facilitate and lead problem-solving workshops and ensure timely delivery of engineering solutions.

Skills & Experience

  • Strong mathematical and Excel skills with a solid foundation in engineering principles.
  • Experience using quality/problem-solving tools (e.g., 8D, Six Sigma, Is/Is-Not, Ishikawa).
  • Confident communicator with the ability to engage across engineering, launch, and quality teams.
  • Self-motivated, well-organised, and capable of working with minimal supervision.
  • Familiarity with chassis or suspension system articulation and GD&T is advantageous.
  • Experience with Minitab or CAD visualisation tools is beneficial.
