Our client is looking for an E&P Construction Engineer to join their team.

E&P Construction Engineer

This is a long-term contract position within the rail industry. It is important to note that this position falls inside IR35, and only candidates willing to work under an umbrella or PAYE arrangement will be considered.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead an installation team, including subcontractors, suppliers, and third parties, ensuring health, safety, environmental, and quality standards are integrated into construction planning and execution.
  2. Manage and coordinate with supervisors to ensure safe planning and execution of works on site.
  3. Organize suppliers and subcontractors for efficient integration into the project plan.
  4. Oversee site compliance and the construction process.
  5. Assess and mitigate all risks, including those related to working within the railway environment.
  6. Create work package plans, task briefing sheets, and manage them through to acceptance.
  7. Develop Inspection Test Plans (ITPs) including safe switching, isolation, and re-energization procedures, ensuring their acceptance.

Experience required:

  • Experience in the railway sector.
  • Electrically biased background.
  • Thorough knowledge of M&E/E&P installations.
  • Previous experience managing on-site teams.
  • LV experience - 650V, points heating, DNOs, signaling power, junction lighting.
  • Ability to build and retain an efficient delivery and installation team.
  • Promote a culture where team members feel supported and can speak up.
  • Participate in and deliver regular team briefings.
  • Assist with content and delivery of safety stand-down days.
  • Conduct regular safety tours and submit reports.
