An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Electrical/Instrument Plant Engineer at our Manufacturing Site in Runcorn. This full-time, permanent position reports to the Maintenance/CE Engineering Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for investigating, planning, organizing, and implementing technical work to maintain and improve information technology, engineering maintenance, and plant operations, as well as delivering minor projects aligned with business requirements.

The Runcorn Vynova Asset is currently undergoing a major investment program, with the new plant in commissioning. This is an excellent time to join our dynamic team, as there will be substantial responsibilities from day one, helping to drive the asset through this critical period.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Develop, define, and monitor maintenance standards to ensure compliance with current and future codes and regulations.
  2. Prepare specifications and scopes of work for purchasing, overhauling, and modifying plant equipment.
  3. Investigate, report, and recommend solutions for plant issues to improve safety, reliability, efficiency, and costs.
  4. Manage minor modifications, design packages, and projects, ensuring changes to plant systems are documented for long-term sustainability.
  5. Act as an inspector, quality control supervisor, and oversee turnarounds, project installations, and commissioning activities to meet program objectives and legal responsibilities.
  6. Serve as the DCS focal point for Vynova Runcorn, ensuring equipment and services meet business and site requirements.
  7. Perform PR / Technical Duty Manager duties out of hours.

Ideal Candidate:

  1. Minimum HNC or degree in Electrical, Instrument, or Control Engineering.
  2. 5+ years of experience in the chemical industry.
  3. Strong teamwork skills.
  4. Ability to integrate into multidisciplinary teams.
  5. Full clean driving license.
