Job summary

GB Global Group operates a busy container depot in Felixstowe and is seeking a Multi-Skilled Operative to join the yard team. You will primarily operate Counterbalance Forklift Trucks and support loading, unloading, storage, and dispatch activities in an open-air environment.

The role requires a valid forklift licence, experience in a busy outdoor yard, and a strong commitment to safety and teamwork. You will work outdoors in all weather conditions, supporting customers and colleagues to meet

Qualifications

• Valid Counterbalance Forklift Truck licence.
• Experience operating Counterbalance Forklift Trucks in a busy outdoor operational yard.
• Strong understanding of health and safety requirements in logistics/transport environment.
• Experience loading/unloading vehicles safely and efficiently.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Flexible approach to changing priorities.
• Reliable, punctual, self-motivated.

Responsibilities

• Operate Counterbalance Forklift Trucks safely and in line with procedures.
• Load, unload, move, and position materials and cargo in the yard.
• Support vehicle loading and unloading activities.
• Assist with receipt, storage, control, and dispatch of equipment and materials.
• Carry out daily forklift checks and report defects.
• Record movements and inventory in company systems.
• Maintain safe traffic routes and storage areas.
• Conduct visual inspections and report concerns.
• Support housekeeping and depot duties.
• Assist with stock checks and location management.
• Collaborate with supervisors and colleagues to meet targets.
• Build positive relationships with customers, drivers and contractors.
• Contribute to continuous improvement for safety and efficiency.
