Job summary

Menzies Distribution are seeking an experienced Transport Planner for our Planning Centre in Daventry. You will coordinate daily deliveries and collections across multiple sites, planning for Day 1 to Day 5 and adapting plans as loads change.

Qualifications

• Experience in a transport planning role within a busy office environment.
• Knowledge of driving hours and WTD legislation is required.
• Numerate and IT literate with good standard of education.

Responsibilities

• Prioritise workload and manage a demanding transport plan for multiple customers.
• Develop back haul lanes with depots and third‑party customers to optimise fleet use.
• Cover loads with sub‑contractors and negotiate rates.
• Monitor KPI targets and maximise profitability while meeting customer service levels.
• Explain plan efficiencies to management and stakeholders.
