Job summary

Westfield Infant School in Chesterfield is seeking an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a caring and supportive team. You will support the class teacher, help with phonics and pupil welfare, and contribute to an inclusive learning environment.

The role requires experience with children in an education setting, GCSEs in Maths & English, and a proactive, flexible approach. Training in First Aid and CPD opportunities are available within the school.

Qualifications

• GCSE Maths and English grade 4-9 essential.
• Experience working with children in education setting essential.
• Understanding of First Aid procedures is desirable.
• CPD/training relevant to the post is beneficial.
• Ability to promote inclusion and support diverse learners.

• Work as part of a team to support the class teacher in preparation for teaching.
• Support children's physical, social and emotional welfare.
• Be creative and innovative in approaches to learning.
• Maintain high expectations of achievement and behaviour.

• Encourage inclusion of all pupils, including those with additional needs.
• Be motivated to make a genuine difference for children in our care.
