Job summary

Class Act Teaching Services is seeking an English Teacher for flexible supply roles across secondary schools in the region. You will deliver English lessons, manage classrooms, and adapt to different school environments while maintaining safeguarding standards.

The role offers day-to-day and short-term opportunities with a weekly PAYE salary. Applicants should be adaptable, reliable, and committed to supporting pupils’ learning across KS3/KS4.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• Experience teaching English in a secondary school setting.
• Strong subject knowledge and confidence delivering English lessons.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and well-structured English lessons using pre-planned materials.
• Teach English across Key Stage 3 and, where required, Key Stage 4.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and well-managed classroom environment.
• Follow school behaviour policies, routines, and safeguarding procedures.
• Adapt teaching approaches to meet the needs of pupils with varying abilities.
• Encourage pupil engagement, participation, and progress in English.
• Manage classroom behaviour effectively to ensure continuity of learning.
• Provide clear feedback and handover notes for permanent staff.
• Represent Class Act professionally while working as an English Teacher.
