Job summary

Supply Heroes in Birmingham is seeking a proactive Teaching Assistant to support students in a secondary school from September 2026. This full-time, long-term role offers daily rate with room to progress toward a permanent position.

You will work with teachers across subjects, provide one-to-one and small-group support, help manage behaviour, and contribute to student development and pastoral care in a supportive school environment.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people.
• Patient, caring and enthusiastic about education.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Support teachers in delivering lessons across a range of subjects.
• Provide one-to-one and small-group support to pupils.
• Assist students with varying learning needs and abilities.
• Support classroom behaviour and promote positive learning attitudes.
• Help prepare learning resources and classroom activities.
• Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
• Encourage student confidence, independence and engagement.
• Contribute to the wider pastoral and academic support of students.
