Job summary

Frome Community College in Frome, Somerset, is seeking a Cover Supervisor to manage the school's absence system and coordinate cover requirements. The role combines office administration with classroom supervision, supporting teachers and students throughout the day.

The successful candidate will have strong IT skills (Google and MS Office), excellent communication, and the ability to engage with young people. A supportive induction and CPD are offered.

Qualifications

• Strong IT skills, preferably with experience of Google Workspace and MS Office.
• Excellent communication skills with a positive, can-do attitude.
• Confidence and ability to work effectively with young people and encourage learning.
• Ability to use own initiative with good planning and organisational skills.
• Flexible approach to work with ability to prioritise and meet commitments.
• Great sense of humour.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate cover requirements for emergencies and planned absence.
• Lead and manage a team of lesson supervisors and oversee admin for cover procedures.
• Split role between office and classroom, supervising and managing classes of students.
• Contribute to a supportive and collaborative school community.
