Job summary

Teach Now is seeking a confident Teacher of PSHE to join a secondary school in Hertfordshire, delivering an engaging PSHE curriculum for students aged 11–19 and working with pastoral teams to support wellbeing and inclusion.

The role requires a recognised teaching qualification (QTS preferred), proven secondary teaching experience, strong classroom management and safeguarding knowledge; salary is £35,602–£54,328 per annum, with progression to UPS3 for experienced teachers.

Qualifications

• Required recognised teaching qualification, with QTS preferred.
• Experience teaching in a secondary school setting.
• Strong knowledge of age-appropriate PSHE content and safeguarding.
• Excellent communication, organisation and classroom management.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver inclusive PSHE lessons across the secondary timetable.
• Teach topics including relationships, consent, wellbeing, online safety and preparation for adult life.
• Create a respectful classroom environment for discussion of sensitive topics.
• Adapt activities and resources for different learning needs.
• Assess understanding through questioning, discussion and feedback.
• Work with pastoral and teaching colleagues to support student development.
• Follow safeguarding procedures and report concerns promptly.
