Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment LTD. is seeking an Instructor / Unqualified Teacher for a PRU/Alternative Provision in Burnley, Lancashire. Start immediately or after half term; temp-to-perm pathway with up to £33k per annum pro rata.

You will lead small, high-support groups (4-8 pupils) with SEMH and neurodiverse profiles, plan engaging lessons across core and vocational projects, and mentor pupils to improve attendance and resilience using trauma-informed approaches.

Qualifications

• Proven track record leading classes or running structured learning interventions within an AP/PRU/SEMH setting.
• Experience delivering lessons to small groups (4–8 pupils) with high needs.
• Ability to de-escalate and use restorative practice and trauma-informed approaches.

Responsibilities

• Plan, adapt and deliver engaging lessons across core subjects or vocational projects.
• Lead small classes supported by Learning Support Assistants.
• Manage classroom dynamics using non-confrontational de-escalation techniques.
• Track learner progress and set attainable targets to re-engage pupils.
