Job summary

Qualifications

  • A flexible, reliable, and proactive approach.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee classes during teacher absence, ensuring pupils follow the work set and remain focused on their learning.
  • Maintain high standards of behaviour in accordance with the school's behaviour policy, creating a safe, respectful, and orderly classroom environment.
  • Provide appropriate support to pupils by answering questions, clarifying instructions, and encouraging engagement with tasks.
  • Complete registers accurately and promptly, reporting any absences, incidents, or concerns to relevant staff.
  • Work flexibly across different year groups and subjects as required, adapting to the needs of the school.
  • Uphold safeguarding and child protection procedures, ensuring the wellbeing of pupils and contributing to school life through duties such as break supervision and assemblies.

Job PurposeTo supervise whole classes during the short-term absence of teaching staff, ensuring that pupils remain engaged in pre-set work and that a positive learning environment is maintained.
