Job summary

St Cuthbert's RC High School in Rochdale is seeking a dedicated PE Teacher to join the thriving department on a full-time, temporary basis (ASAP–December). The role involves delivering PE across Key Stages 3 and 4, promoting sport, and supporting student wellbeing.

You must have QTS or equivalent, prior secondary PE experience, strong classroom and behaviour management, and an enhanced DBS (or willing to obtain). Immediate start and competitive daily rate offered.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Experience teaching PE in a secondary school.
• Strong classroom and behaviour management.
• Commitment to promoting physical education and student wellbeing.
• Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
• Enhanced DBS on Update Service or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging PE lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
• Plan and deliver high-quality lessons that challenge and motivate students.
• Assess, monitor and track pupil progress effectively.
• Promote participation in sport and physical activity both inside and outside the classroom.
• Maintain high standards of behaviour and classroom management.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to support student achievement.
