Job summary

The Gateway School in Northampton is seeking a dynamic Sports & Physical Education Coach who can inspire pupils, plan progressive coaching sessions, and promote active, healthy lifestyles through engaging activities and competitive learning.

You will lead inter-school and intra-school events, support extracurricular sport, collaborate with staff to boost student engagement, and champion inclusion, safety, and sport for all, while modelling a love of activity.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver exciting coaching sessions that promote participation in PE and school sport.
• Organise inter-school and intra-school competitions to foster teamwork and a love for physical activity.
• Act as the school link to Northamptonshire Sport and other external sporting bodies.
• Encourage pupils to push their boundaries, stay active, and develop a lifelong passion for health and fitness.
• Promote inclusivity by identifying and overcoming barriers to participation.
• Support extracurricular sporting activities and out-of-school events.
• Monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback, and work with colleagues to enhance student engagement.
• Assist in school trips, lunchtime activities, and before/after school programs.
