Job summary

Wakefield Metropolitan District Council is seeking an enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant for a church school setting in Wakefield. You will work with teachers across the school to deliver an ambitious curriculum, lead sessions, cover lessons, and guide small groups.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering interventions and supporting learning across primary key stages.
• Ability to adapt, prepare and deliver learning activities under teacher guidance.

• Shares school vision and values and supports Christian ethos.

Responsibilities

• Cover regular classes for PPA and teach whole-class sessions.
• Provide whole-class cover when needed.
• Adapt lessons to meet diverse learner needs.
• Support assessment and observations to inform planning.
• Encourage social and emotional development of children.
• Foster strong relationships with families and parental involvement.
