Job summary

Scholars School System seeks a Business Lecturer with higher education experience to deliver the Business Management curriculum at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, with a strong emphasis on teaching, learning and student experience.

The role involves module leadership, assessment, and the development of innovative, inclusive resources including e-learning; you will also act as a personal academic tutor when required and ensure QA standards are met across teaching activities.

Qualifications

• Masters’ degree in Business Management or business-related field.
• UK teaching experience (minimum 3 years).
• Higher Education teaching qualification (PGCert, SFHEA, AFHEA, or FHEA).
• Enthusiasm for delivering high-quality education.
• Experience leading program development and educational pedagogy.
• Experience supervising student work, marking, assessment and feedback.
• Course leadership and module leadership experience desirable.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Familiarity with VLEs and digital/blended learning approaches.
• Knowledge of formative and summative assessment and feedback strategies.

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of the student academic journey, including records and progression.
• Contribute to module and course leadership to ensure quality.
• Support OfS B3 condition metrics.
• Achieve high levels of attendance, pass rates and retention.
• Teach a minimum of 20 hours per week.
• Contribute to assessment processes including marking and moderation.
• Design innovative, inclusive resources including e-learning.
• Act as a personal academic tutor when required.
• Ensure teaching meets QA standards and external quality requirements.
• Promote digital resources to support learning and student partnership.
• Collaborate with professional services and attend meetings.
• Carry out academic administrative duties and participate in committees.
• Ensure teaching is informed by research and knowledge exchange.
• Pursue research, scholarship, knowledge transfer when appropriate.
• Maintain ongoing professional development.
• Promote equality, diversity and inclusion.
