Job summary

Marchant Recruitment is seeking a dynamic Teacher of French and German to join a vibrant MFL faculty at a secondary academy in Oldham. The role covers KS3/KS4 with potential KS5, delivering engaging lessons and building confidence in speaking, listening, reading and writing.

The successful applicant will join a supportive team, contribute to cultural studies and use digital resources to enhance immersion. Starting January, full-time permanent contract.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or UK equivalent (PGCE/SCITT).
• Honors degree in French, German, Modern Languages, or native-level fluency.
• Proven ability to deliver strong GCSE French and German outcomes.
• Outstanding oral and written communication in target languages.
• Active enhanced DBS check or willingness to apply.

Responsibilities

• Teach interactive French and German lessons across KS3/KS4 (GCSE).
• Guide GCSE candidates through oral examinations, grammar, translation and listening tasks.
• Utilise language lab tech and authentic digital resources for immersion.
• Assess, track and report student progress through mocks and vocab tests.
• Support extra-curricular language initiatives and exchange trips.
• Fulfill pastoral duties as a Form Tutor.
