Job summary

Cardiff Metropolitan University is seeking an enthusiastic Fitness Instructor to support the Active Lifestyles Manager in delivering high quality services across Cyncoed and Llandaff fitness facilities for students, staff and external users.

You will lead fitness classes, assist with training and testing, ensure equipment and spaces are well maintained, and promote the Sports & Fitness Membership. A REPS/CIMSPA Level 2 qualification is required.

Qualifications

• REPS/CIMSPA Level 2 qualification required.
• Good understanding of customer care and health & safety.
• Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
• Effective communication and time management skills.
• Good organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• To work in the Cyncoed and Llandaff Fitness Centres.
• Assist Health and Fitness Manager with training, fitness testing and personal programmes.
• Ensure the Centres, equipment and customers are protected during duty hours.
• Carry out daily cleaning and routine checks/maintenance of equipment.
• Deliver/instruct fitness classes as per timetable.
• Support Active Lifestyles Manager in healthy university initiatives.
• Assist Duty Managers with sport programme delivery for all campus users.
• Promote Sports & Fitness Membership and issue memberships.
