Job summary

Saint Helens Secondary School is seeking a confident and enthusiastic Teacher of Drama to begin in January 2027. You will inspire pupils to express themselves, build confidence and develop performance skills through practical and engaging lessons.

You will teach Drama across KS3 and KS4, supporting GCSE students with practical and written assessments and contributing to a positive, high-standard learning environment.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) required.
• Strong subject knowledge in Drama.
• Experience teaching secondary-age pupils.
• Confidence leading practical and performance-based lessons.
• Ability to motivate pupils and encourage participation.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging Drama lessons across KS3 and KS4.
• Teach performance techniques, improvisation and script work.
• Support pupils with practical performances and coursework.
• Develop pupils' confidence, creativity and communication skills.
• Assess progress and provide constructive feedback.
• Maintain a positive and well-managed learning environment.
