Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment are partnering with a Salford secondary school to recruit a Design Technology teacher for a September start, covering KS3 and KS4. The role is full-time, long-term, from September to Christmas 2026 with a daily rate of 175–240 GBP depending on experience.

The school prioritises creativity, practical pedagogy and high expectations in a well-equipped DT department. The successful applicant will plan and deliver engaging DT lessons, combining practical and theory-based

Qualifications

QTS or equivalent required.
Experience teaching Design Technology at secondary level.
Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
Ability to deliver engaging practical lessons.
Excellent subject knowledge in Design Technology.
Reliable, enthusiastic and committed to raising student achievement.

Responsibilities

Plan and deliver engaging Design Technology lessons.
Teach practical and theory-based elements of the curriculum.
Inspire students to develop their creativity, problem-solving and technical skills.
Prepare and deliver lessons appropriate to a range of abilities.
Monitor and assess student progress.
Maintain high expectations for behaviour and achievement.
Ensure practical activities are carried out safely and effectively.
Work positively with colleagues across the department.
