Job summary

TeacherActive are recruiting a Cover Supervisor for a Derby secondary school in Sinfin, starting immediately on a full-time, long-term basis. You’ll deliver pre-planned lessons, manage challenging behaviour, and keep students engaged KS3–KS4 in a busy learning environment.

Ideal applicants will have a relevant qualification or degree (desirable), proven classroom management, strong communication and organisational skills, and a resilient, adaptable approach.

Qualifications

• Qualification or degree desirable
• Proven experience in a secondary school environment
• Proven experience of effective classroom management and managing challenging behaviour
• Confidence supervising KS3/KS4
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Resilient, adaptable and proactive approach

Responsibilities

• Deliver pre-planned lessons across a range of subjects
• Manage classroom behaviour to maintain a positive learning environment
• Maintain a focused learning environment and keep students on task
• Engage and motivate students throughout the school day
