Job summary

Cover People is seeking confident and reliable Cover Supervisors to work across secondary schools in South Manchester. The role focuses on day-to-day and short-term supply with potential for longer-term placements, paying £95-£130 per day depending on experience.

You will help keep lessons running smoothly when teachers are absent, ensuring pupils stay focused and complete the work provided. Previous experience with young people is beneficial, with flexibility to work across different schools

• Experience working with children or young people.
• Confidence managing groups and maintaining positive behaviour.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• A calm, fair and professional approach.
• The ability to follow lesson instructions and school procedures.
• Flexibility to work across different schools and subject areas.
• Reliability, adaptability and a genuine interest in education.

Responsibilities

• Supervising classes across a range of subjects and year groups.
• Delivering instructions and explaining work set by teaching staff.
• Maintaining classroom order and managing behaviour effectively.
• Encouraging pupils to stay on task and complete their work.
• Responding appropriately to questions and referring subject-specific queries when needed.
• Following school policies, routines and safeguarding procedures.
• Reporting any issues or concerns to the appropriate staff.
• Helping maintain a safe, respectful and productive learning environment.
