Job summary

Monarch Education is seeking a confident Cover Supervisor to support a Rochdale secondary school. The role offers the chance to supervise classes across subjects, deliver pre-prepared materials, and maintain a positive learning environment.

You will work to support students with their learning, manage behaviour, and liaise with teachers and pastoral staff. Various contract types include full-time, part-time, supply, or long-term roles.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting pupils with SEND
• Patience, resilience and a calm, nurturing approach
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
• Right to work in the UK
• Desirable: Team Teach, Makaton, ASD awareness training

Responsibilities

• Supervise whole classes during short-term teacher absences and keep students engaged with the set work
• Deliver pre-prepared lesson materials across a range of subjects
• Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies
• Support students with their learning and encourage participation
• Provide feedback to teachers and pastoral staff on student performance and outcomes
• Monitor attendance and incidents and contribute to a safe learning environment
