Job summary

Biology Teacher role in Sutton within an Outstanding School's Science department. You will plan and deliver Biology lessons across KS3 and KS4, developing students' knowledge, analytical thinking and practical skills.

The successful candidate will teach biology topics, assess work, and foster enquiry-based learning while maintaining high expectations and ensuring curriculum consistency with the department.

Qualifications

• QTS or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Experience teaching Biology or secondary Science.
• Strong KS3/KS4 subject knowledge.
• Ability to deliver practical lessons and manage classes.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging Biology lessons across KS3 and KS4.
• Teach topics including cells, human biology, genetics, ecology and the organisation of living organisms.
• Develop students' understanding of scientific methods and experimental procedures.
• Prepare students for GCSE Biology assessments and examinations.
• Organise practical activities in line with school health and safety procedures.
• Adapt lessons to meet different learning needs and levels of attainment.
• Assess student work and provide constructive feedback to support progress.
• Encourage scientific curiosity, independent thinking and evidence-based conclusions.
• Work with the wider Science department to develop resources and maintain curriculum consistency.
