Job summary

ManpowerGroup's client seeks a WAN Architect to drive architecture governance for a major Defence programme in a large-scale fixed networks environment. Corsham-based with hybrid working and occasional travel to MOD sites; DV clearance is required.

You will provide architectural assurance across WAN services, challenge designs, and support service transitions while aligning with Defence Digital standards and strategy.

Qualifications

• Experience in enterprise WAN design and governance.
• Secure remote access and network security architecture.
• Ability to review high/low level designs and RFCs.

Responsibilities

• Provide architecture and design assurance across large-scale WAN services.
• Review and challenge HLDs, LLDs, RFCs, Impact Assessments and supplier proposals.
• Ensure WAN designs are secure, supportable and aligned with standards.
• Support Technical Design Authorities and architecture governance forums.
• Contribute to service transition, onboarding, testing and go-live activities.
• Collaborate with MSPs and third-party suppliers to resolve risks.
• Assess technology lifecycle and plan future upgrades.
• Identify opportunities to modernise WAN services.
• Evaluate SD-WAN/SDN, cloud connectivity, remote access and monitoring.
