Job summary

Synergize Consulting Ltd in the United Kingdom is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to support a defence project, delivering secure, scalable data solutions across the full data lifecycle. You will design models, pipelines, and interfaces using NiFi, Python, SQL, Parquet storage, and cloud-ready architectures.

Collaboration with DevOps, data scientists and stakeholders is essential to ensure quality and secure delivery.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering data pipelines in production environments.
• Strong Python and SQL development, testing, and optimization.
• Hands-on NiFi for ingestion, routing and orchestration.
• Familiarity with data contracts and ICDs.
• Experience with OpenShift/Kubernetes.
• Excellent stakeholder communication.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain secure, scalable data solutions end-to-end.
• Develop data ingestion pipelines using NiFi, Python and SQL.
• Model data, schemas, contracts and ICDs to enable integration.
• Integrate data from REST APIs and S3-compatible storage.
• Implement data validation, metadata management and traceability.
• Collaborate with DevOps, Data Scientists and Analysts.
• Take ownership of deliverables ensuring quality, security and maintainability.
• Define data and tool requirements with stakeholders.
